I’m Back

I’ve been away for a while, because I didn’t have internet. I finally got back online this month. I have wireless. It’s not as good as cable or DSL but it’s better than dialup.
Last month I ran out of Invega on a weekend and realized I felt better without it, so I decided not to [...]

The Fog Has Lifted

I feel better now that I’ve decreased the Invega, after only a day! So it WAS the Invega. My friends and family are noticing the difference too. They say I am back to my old self. YAY!
I am glad because now I don’t have to worry so much about how I am acting and if [...]

Flat Affect

I’ve been reading about “flat affect” online. The websites talk about it being a symptom of schizophrenia and depression, but they say nothing about it being a side effect of medication. Thus, I think my behavior stems from depression and not the Invega. But we shall see. Now that I’m more aware of it, maybe [...]

Decreased Invega

My mom told me I was acting weird. She said I would have a deadpan expression, and that I would stare, and walk funny. She said I looked like a mental patient. This really scared me. I was so upset yesterday that I was crying on the way to work and I almost called in [...]

Flat Effect

A friend of mine whom I hadn’t seen for a while said she thinks the Invega is giving me a “flat effect”, that something is missing, and I’m not displaying normal emotions. I told her I’m depressed.
So is it a flat effect from the Invega, or is it depression? I’ll talk to my doctor about [...]

Out of Medication

My new doc rescheduled for next week because she had the flu. Last night I had my last dose of Invega. The doctor’s office was supposed to call me back yesterday and talk about getting me more samples, but they didn’t call, and I was too busy at work to call them. I will call [...]

Missed Medication

I missed my Invega the past two nights, because I stayed at my husband’s house and didn’t have it with me. I actually feel quite good. I am not so tired and do not have the urge to sleep 12-14 hours per day. At this point I am not having mood swings and am in [...]

My Medications

I thought inquiring minds would like to know about all the medications I’ve been on and how they worked, and what the side effects were.
Antidepressants:
Prozac – helped my depression but sent me into a hypomanic state with aggression when dosage was increased.
Zoloft – seemed to work fine in my early 20s, but made me sleepy. [...]

Medication Update

I missed my dose of Invega on Saturday night because I stayed with my husband and forgot to bring my meds with me. I stopped by the house before going to the flea market Sunday morning and went ahead and took my Ritalin and my birth control pill. I also am now taking Claritin daily [...]

Medication Working

My medication is working – finally – with minimal side effects.
I’m taking:
6 mg of Invega each night to stabilize moods
1 mg of Klonopin each night to sleep
32 mg of Concerta each morning for ADD
It seems to be working. The Invega makes me tired but not tired enough to sleep. That’s where the Klonopin comes in. [...]
